The appeal of those dangerous, old-fashioned padded crib bumpers is two-fold: they keep baby's head away from the hard wood, and his limbs from sticking between the slats; and also, they're a decorative element in baby's nursery. Breathable mesh bumpers provide a little cushioning but most aren't terribly soft, nor colorful and attractive. (There are a few printed ones on the market now though.) These Go Mama Go Wonder Bumpers though, are adorable and practical.Essentially, these bumpers are fabric-wrapped foam sheets that zip around each individual slat. They provide enough cushion that I don't worry about my baby headbanger, but they aren't big enough to cause breathing concerns. We have the Carribbean Blue set in our daughter's nursery (which has an outer space theme) and they're a nice bright pop of color for her crib.I sort of get the feeling that Wonder Bumpers aren't a well established product yet, since there are a couple of kinks and sloppy areas in their design. Most obviously, their exposed zipper means either it faces in (up against baby's face - not good), out (not terribly attractive) or to the side (not likely to stay put once baby gets bigger and can twist the fabric). You'll also probably have to buy four of their sets of two in order to cover the corner posts; given that the majority of cribs have thicker posts, the covers for those ought to be included. I haven't had laundering problems, but I'll confess it's a bit of a hassle when I do wash them and therefore I tend to do it as infrequently as I can.Overall, I highly recommend these, but only because their form truly follows their function, and they're a safe, soft crib bumper option when there really aren't many other choices. I'd love to see Go Mama Go continue to tweak the product to make it more user friendly as well.

Ordered these for my "NaNa" crib after my daughter used them on my granddaughter's crib at home. They really are soft and protect the baby's head while providing plenty of air space for the baby to breathe. Also when one of them gets soiled you only have to take the soiled ones off to clean, not the whole bunch. Only improvement I would like to see, wish they could make extra wide ones for the corners of the crib, not an issue on my daughter's crib but definitely on mine as the corner posts are large and it creates a space with no cushion.

This is a great idea! I was so worried about my son smacking his head on the wooden slats of the crib since all I had was the breathable bumper and this fixed the problem perfectly. I use it in conjunction with the breathable bumper since there are still spaces between the slats but I feel sooooo much better! It's great that they are reversible, it would be great if they came in plain colors on one side, white on the other. The only drawbacks are that I have a sleigh crib and the corners are impossible to figure out and that they pill when you wash them, maybe try hanging them dry? I put them on low heat in the dryer....either way, there is nothing like this out there and it def. keeps their little heads safe, so totally worth it!
